Security roles specify the privileges that users have in projects. You grant privileges to users by assigning to them one or more roles depending on their responsibilities within the project. You can assign roles at the tenancy level so that they apply to all projects or you can assign roles in specific projects that override the user’s tenancy roles.
You must be assigned to the Tenant Administrator role to perform this task.
If your Meridian Portal tenancy is integrated with Meridian Enterprise, it will include a special Meridian user account that can only be used by Meridian Portal to communicate with the Meridian Enterprise server.
The ways in which the Meridian user account is different from normal user accounts are:
- The account and its password can only be created by Accruent and once created, the account cannot be deleted.
- It is the only account that can be assigned the Meridian security role that is necessary to communicate with Meridian Enterprise. The role does not grant privileges to the account to work interactively in Meridian Portal. Once assigned, the role cannot be revoked.
- You do not need to invite the account to join a project for the integration to work with projects.
- Portal user accounts and security roles are separate from the other Meridian Enterprise applications in Meridian Cloud, which are described in Security roles and privileges.
