All access to your documents through the Meridian Cloud applications: Meridian PowerWeb, Meridian Portal, and Meridian Explorer is controlled by the same security system. The system is designed to make managing security as easy as possible even for complex scenarios and very many users. The system is based on named roles that are assigned to user groups. The roles define what individual actions users may perform and the groups define which users are permitted to perform those actions. The roles and groups may be assigned in various combinations in different locations to meet your specific needs.
Security may be configured in these ways:
- Besides the default identity providers, user authentication can be configured as described in Configuring a third-party identity provider or Configuring AD FS for Single Sign-on.
- Role assignments for the Masters scope as described in Configuring role assignments for master documents.
- Role assignments for all other scopes as described in Configuring role assignments for scopes.
- Role assignments per project type as described in Configuring role assignments for project types.
Role assignments may take up to 10 minutes to be propagated to Meridian PowerWeb.
